Gita Jayanti or Bhagavad Gita Jayanti is observed on the eleventh day of the bright half moon (Shukla paksha) of the Margaseersha month (November – December) of the Hindu calendar. It is celebrations of holy appearance of Srimad Bhagavad Gita. This special ekadasi is also called as ‘Vaikunta Ekadasi’ in southern parts of India. In 2010, Gita jayanti is on 17th December.
